She Strides Run Safety Policy

Group Image

Policy on Reporting Catcalling and Unwanted Behaviour During Club Runs:

She Strides is committed to building a running environment that is safe, respectful, and empowering for every member. We recognise that catcalling, harassment, and unwanted behaviour, no matter how minor are not acceptable. We stand with our community of women, and all women, in challenging these behaviours and making our voices heard.

We’re proud to introduce Abbie Collier, a serving officer in the Metropolitan Police and She Strides’ Women’s Safety Lead. Abbie offers expert guidance, care, and advocacy for any safety concerns, ensuring every runner feels seen and supported.

Group Running Protocols

  • Remain with your pacing group throughout the run to maintain a strong, supportive presence.

  • If the group splits, adopt a buddy system — never let a fellow runner feel or be left alone.

  • Remember: safety is more important than speed. Supporting one another comes before chasing personal bests.

End-of-Run Support
At the end of each run, designated pacers will run back the route to ensure all runners are safe and accounted for. If you’ve fallen behind or need assistance, a pacer will be there to support you, if you find yourself alone please call the emergency number on the event chat.

Reporting Harassment or Unwanted Behaviour
If someone says or does anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, scared, or unsafe:

  • Call the emergency number found in the Club Chat.

  • Report the incident to a Pacer as soon as you’re able.

  • The Pacer will relay your report to Abbie Collier, who will:

    • Check in with you directly.

    • Offer emotional and procedural support.

    • Guide you through next steps should you wish to report the incident further.

Why Speaking Up Matters
We are doing everything we can to support our members, and every report, big or small it helps us push back against behaviour that has no place on our runs. You should never have to feel unsafe on a run. This isn’t just about She Strides , it’s about making change for our community of women
and for all women.

We’re stronger when we stand together. Always speak up, always reach out, and always know that your safety matters.

If you have questions on this policy please do not hesitate to contact us on hello@shestrides.co.uk or peak to your club leader or pacer.
