In winter 2024 — just six months after launching our very first She Strides Run Club in Aldershot — we faced a challenge familiar to many community groups. Shorter days, darker routes, and unpredictable weather meant we needed a winter running solution that prioritised safety, visibility, and comfort.
That moment marked the beginning of our partnership with Village Hotel.
How it Started
To keep our community moving safely through the winter months, we created a new winter running route in Farnborough with better lighting and accessibility. Village Hotel stepped in to support us by offering something incredibly valuable: a warm, dry, welcoming place for our members to meet before and after runs. It was a simple act of support — but one that made a huge difference. That initial backing allowed us to:
